New Year—New Era—“New” Democracy in Color

Dear Friends,

January 2021 marked the end of a truly ugly period in our country and in U.S. politics, and it also signaled the beginning of a new era—one where realizing the promise of a progressive, multiracial New American Majority is increasingly within our reach.

We launched Democracy in Color in 2016 to elevate the voice of the New American Majority and to point the path forward towards building political power for social justice. The modern-day rainbow coalition of immigrants, workers, students, activists and professionals paved the way for a $2 trillion relief package passed earlier this month that will cut child poverty in half.

Now is the perfect time to reorganize, regroup, and redouble our efforts. So that we can boldly step into this new era, we’ll be debuting our visual rebrand next week.
